I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Metropolitan State College of Denver and my Master’s degree in Transpersonal Studies from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology, Palo Alto, California. My counseling career began in the residential community as a direct care counselor and group therapist working with high-risk adolescents, transitioned into the addiction field as a DUI therapist and Outpatient group and family therapist to my current position as the Director and Owner at Recovering Spirit, LLC. I am a Certified Systemic Play Therapist (CSPT), Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), and EMDR Certified. I work with adults, couples, families and groups. I utilize a variety of experiential techniques in addition to talk therapy. My Post-Master’s education includes a Certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy, a Certificate in Play Therapy, a Certificate in Driving with Care (DWC) for DUI offenders, a Certification in SSIC (Strategies for Self-Improvement & Change) for Judicially Involved Clients and Substance Abuse Therapy, a specialization in LGBTQ Family Systems. I am Level II Trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) for Trauma and PTSD.
Techniques and Theoretical Orientation
- I use a variety of evidence-based practices and therapeutic approaches depending upon the specific needs of my clients including: Client-Centered, Holistic, Systemic, Jungian, Transpersonal, Reality, Cognitive-Behavioral, Solution-Focused, Experiential and 12-Step Integration. In addition to individuals, couples and family therapy, I also facilitate a variety of therapy groups for adults through the Outpatient program, as well as the Level II Education & Therapy groups. I believe in a multi-cultural and multi-spiritual approach to recovery. I strive to integrate recovery and wellness in body, mind, and spirit.
